“Going on a cruise is easy!” Or, that’s what every pro-cruiser will tell you.
If you take a step back and look at what the cruise provides to you, along with what you actually have to pay for, most of the time you’re going to get a good deal! Take that away, and the whole process of booking the cruise and traveling to the cruise can be stressful for some.
Because of this, we have compiled our favorite tips and tricks for you to keep in mind while booking your next cruise. They include things that we have noticed from our own experience, as well as tips from many different cruising fans that have also shared their own observations.
Whether you’re a first-time cruiser or an expert, keep on reading because you never know when you’re going to find something you never even knew you could do!
Research The Cruise Ship
One of the many exciting things about going on a cruise is that you’re going to be on a huge boat, and this means that most of what you pay for will be included while you’re sailing. Before setting sail on any cruise, I make sure to visit the cruise lines website.
Visiting the website will give you easy access to everything that’s going on throughout your sail time! From the different restaurants to themed nights, their website should have everything you need to make sure you’re well prepared to sail away!
Pack Your Swim Suit
Unfortunately, we had to learn this one the hard way! When you arrive at your cruise port, you will be greeted by porters who will take your luggage up to your room. This allows you to be hands-free while waiting in line. There is no guarantee when you will receive your bag, so we suggest packing a carry-on that is filled with your swimsuit, sunscreen, and anything else you may need to enjoy the day and the cruise amenities!
Pay Attention to The Benefits
While the prices on a ship may be on the pricier side, some cruises offer passengers the option of bringing on a certain amount of alcohol. Specifically, on our cruise, each person was allowed to bring a bottle of wine.
This perk is a great way to save some money while you’re on board. Keep in mind that while you’re docked on shore, many local stores and shacks offer cheaper drink prices than on the cruise ship itself!

Disconnect
Today, much of our world revolves around technology. It’s the way we keep up with our loved ones and keep up with what’s going on in the world.
Although we hate to say it, one of the best ways to save money while on a cruise is to keep your phone on airplane mode. While cruise lines offer internet packages, it’s best to make sure your internet remains off if you’re looking to save a little bit of money!
Sit Back and Relax
While on our ship, we often felt like we had to do everything possible. This mentality can add unnecessary pressure and take away from your valuable vacation time. While booking a cruise is very exciting, we can imagine that you would also like to relax from life’s everyday stressors.
It’s okay not to do everything while you’re setting sail. If possible, avoid the temptation of overloading your itinerary. The goal is to leave the cruise vacation feeling relaxed, so sit back and enjoy the journey!
Ultimately, going on a cruise is a great way to enjoy a variety of activities, destinations, cuisine and so much more. From fine dining and spectacular shows to water slides, cruises offer a variety of activities suited for all ages. They are a great place to meet new people, see many different destinations in one trip and enjoy time with your loved ones!
